Bob and Richard Daniels purchased Kelly’s, a dealership located at the corner of East North Broadway and High Street. On July 1, 1950, the brothers opened their business, which they named Bob Daniels Buick. It immediately gained a great reputation, which continues today. At that time, when you purchased a dealership from General Motors, you only needed a single page application for operating a dealership; can you imagine!
The golden era for American cars was in the 1950’s. New cars were kept a secret until their debut. This was the heyday for cars in America. The unveiling of a new car was a big event, accompanied by fancy parties and fanfare.
In 1958, Bob Daniels bought out his brother to become sole owner of Bob Daniels Buick.
In 1982, Bob Daniels bought the Marte Pontiac dealership at I-71 and Morse Road and moved his business there. It is the current location of Bob Daniels Pontiac Buick GMC Truck.
In 1999, Bob and Mary Daniels sold the their business to their daughter, Elizabeth Daniels Gerhard and son-in-law Greg Gerhard.
Greg Gerhard is the current president of Bob Daniels. Greg began working at the dealership in 1984. He has worked in every department, and therefore his first-hand experience has given him the expertise to manage the business successfully. Not every dealership is so rich in history, but what makes Bob Daniels Pontiac Buick GMC Truck unique, is that they are still family operated and putting their customers first!
